Counseling for Trauma

Counseling for Trauma

Most people will experience trauma in their lifetime whether it’s a car accident, abuse or neglect, the sudden death of a loved one, a violent criminal act, exposure to the violence of war, or a natural disaster.

Sometimes trauma can affect people long after the event is over. Some long-term effects of trauma include nightmares, intrusive and unwanted memories, difficulty with relationships, and feelings of pain, fear, and shame.

In these circumstances, the support and guidance from a counselor is fundamental to healing from traumatic experiences.

Research has proven counseling to be the most effective form of treatment for overcoming trauma. I am trained in a variety of treatment methods, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

If you or someone you know match the trauma symptoms listed above, I am confident that I can help and invite you to contact me today so we can schedule an appointment.
